About the creators of Eurobirdwatch

Eurobirdwatch is a new venture by a long time 'twitcher' from Yorkshire in England. In 2003 he identified that there was no one place where the dedicated 'twitcher' could get the information he needed about rare bird sightings across Europe. This continued to irritate him as he knew the information was out there, and was needed, so he set about creating this web site to cater for the serious bird watcher.

Funds were tight, so he enlisted the help of a friend of the family who had some limited experience of web site creation and both worked together to learn what to do and created a working site. This was no mean achievement bearing in mind that they both had limited knowledge of web creation, and also worked full time in other jobs!

From the outset it was clear that the site would be continually improving as it went on, and yet, after only 3 months, it was decided that the site was ready to receive paying customers. We want to make it very clear to all that the site is basically your site, we simply provide a service.
